SURFACTANTS FOR EMULSION IN WATER (EW)

Application

Emulsions in water (EW) are the dispersion of an organic liquid insoluble in water. An organic liquid can be either a technical liquid or a solid technical substance dissolved in a solvent. They are a relatively recent alternative to emulsifiable concentrate. To produce a concentrated aqueous emulsion, the continuous phase is usually water, unlike an organic solvent for emulsifiable concentrates. A continuous phase with water is preferred due to lower phytotoxicity, no flash point problems, ease of handling and less environmental impact.
